Centre for Energy research and Training (CERT) is a Federal Government of Nigeria owned Research Institute domiciled in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and established in 1976 through Atomic Energy commission decree no 46, 1976 and its subsequent amendments including No 62 (1979), No 32 (1988), No19 (1989) and No 19 (1995). This business plan represents a formal statement of a set of business goals and the plans of reaching these goals for the Centre. The document will cover various aspects of planning and implementation processes with respect to management structure, academic and research activities that will reflect the vision and mission of CERT in line with the available resources. The document will also cover other aspects of planning and implementation process including operational plans, marketing plans, and financial plans and prepare a solid foundation for the future of CERT. In addition, the document will also suggest ways of marketing CERT products and services to its potential clients and stakeholders. Furthermore, the business model will propose ways by which CERT can manage its operations as it grows and determine its capital and resource requirements for attainment of its vision and mission.
Nuclear Science and Technology Section | This Section is one of the founding Sections of the Centre. It was created in 1987. It houses one of few major equipment of the Centre such as the 14 MeVNeutron Generator(NG), the Isotopic Neutron Source(241Am-Be) and the the Capacitance probe, Diviner 2000. The Section is involved in development of basic and applied research works in mainly Neutron Activation analysis and reactor physics.
